Cola
I like to go walking down the beach and kampong (village) next to our condo. There is women down there who keeps a large horse. Not sure how the horse earns his keep but think she rents him out for photo shoots. When she heard I was a kiwi she invited me over to meet her horse as he was a kiwi too. He is massive and I was doing my best to not feel intimidated by his size and muscles. I was giving him my best bro speak "Whoa big muscles , How much do you bench bro". He responded immediately to the accent and walked right up to me for a smell and a nuzzle. I thought we were getting on famously then he suddenly bent down and bit my thigh. Now I know why they call it a horse bite. The owner was saying the horse likes me and it was just a kiss but I am reconsidering my place in the food chain.
My cola can was stopped by fallen trees.
Its gone monsoon at the moment. Two days of biblical style rain and lots of flooding. I was persuaded, knives and axes, to collect some coffee for Glynis at Starbucks. The road was blocked with fallen trees but finally got to Starbucks. Absolutely pouring down with rain and queues of irrational bad temper morning people waiting to get that coffee fix. Finally my turn to move up to the drive through window. There was a leak in the awning above me and water was flooding over the car. The window wipers were still going frantic trying to remover the rain.
It came together perfectly. As the Starbucks lady opened her sliding window my window wiper flicked a grande size amount of water over her. It took me a few moments to realize I was the one chucking water at her. Seriously it was a accident but I do have a problem with them always trying to up-sell me. I don't want breakfast, obesity or a muffin with my wife's coffee because I would have asked.
I have had a little bit of work done on the car. The brakes were sounding like the pads had worn down though I knew they were fine. The mechanics removed the pads. Roughed them up on the concrete floor then replaced them. It removed the glaze so fine again. No charge which was nice.
Last week I was back as there was rattle coming from the front of car. It seems the brakes pins were worn and rattling in the bush that secures them. The mechanics changes the pins to new ones. They took me for a test drive to show that the problem was now fixed. I felt bad but had to point out the fact there was no change. They were as rattly as ever. They sadly agreed and said they needed to do a small adjustment. It worked. Next drive was perfect and it didn't feel like the front end was coming adrift. I asked them what they did and it seems them shimmed the bush with a strip of coca cola tin. As long as it is all in the manufacturers specifications... all good. I drive a cola can.
